Fashion trends for 2017

January 19, 2017

Fashion changes fast. In 2016 we experienced the comeback of chockers, wide trousers and shoulderless tops. While this was a tonne of fun, it’s time to move on and see what the new year has in store!

I am completely in denial thinking about autumn coming around but I also can’t help being excited! Every season brings us emerging trends and another reason to go shopping! As the sundresses and sandals come out of style, cosy fabrics and layers come back in.

Here is my forecast for the trends to look out for in 2017!

Over the knee boots

While these were a hit in 2017, I feel that Australia is not done yet. Throw them on with a mini skirt and loose sweater for a casual look. At night, style these with a statement skirt and a blazer for a sexy Kim-K vibe.

Double denim

Channel your inner Bella Hadid with 90’s cool girl style in double denim. Mix up the shades and styles by combining light wash denim jacket with darker jeans. Don’t forget about the tousled denim look and the urban embroidered jackets.

Super Stripes

Bold, bright and here to excite your wardrobe. Big stripes are in and they come in any colour of the rainbow. Keep a particular eye out on bold floor-length dresses that made a head-turning appearance at New York Fashion Week!

Off-the-shoulder

While last year we loved giving the cold shoulder, this year we’re being a little more modest. Traditional button up Oxford tops will come with an edge in 2017, displaying embellishments and dramatic silhouettes. Perfect for an edgy office outfit or a sexy nigh time look.

One colour looks

While New York Fashion Week featured everything from neons to sequins, another style that stunned was one colour attire. This particular trends works for any type of style; from one colour sweats to one colour office wear. Layer it up in different tones and look super chic!
