From runway to real life Spring fashion 2018 metallics

Spring is almost here! This is one of my favourite seasons purely due to the exciting warm weather spring fashions starting to peek through. It is a glimpse into summer and the first look into colours, fabrics and style cuts for the next few months.

I’ve done my research, seen the runway looks and read all the latest fashion blogs. So, I decided to create my own interpretation of the style with affordable pieces!

See my top picks for big trends for Australian Spring 2018 and how you can incorporate them in your closet.

Metallics

The metallic boot made a big statement last year. In Spring 2018 we are seeing this trend move from our shoe rack into our closet. If you’re not keen to go big with metallic blazers, dresses or large statement pieces start small! I paired a silver toned one piece (Miss Selfridge) with jeans (Witchery) and a black blazer (H&M) for a chic but comfortable look.

We are seeing huge Clueless school vibes this spring and summer. If you’re not confident enough for the miniskirts, incorporate check in your blazers, pants and scarves. I paired my wide leg check pants (Primark) with a black tank (Bardot) and a blazer (TK Maxx). A quick way to add a bit of old school class to your outfit!

Sock boots

This trend from 2017 definitely progressed into the new year. Thanks to style influencers like Kim Kardashian and Yeezy we have seen a huge rise of the sock boot. Why? Because it’s the perfect mix of effortless and chic. The perfect casual look for the rich and famous. Throw on a pair of sock boots and you will bring glam to any casual outfit. Whether you want to pair them with a dress, jeans or even track pants sock boots are here to stay. I got mine from Wittner.

Statement sleeves

Move aside peek-a-boo shoulder tops of 2017, this spring we are seeing plenty of statement sleeves. Whether they are puffy, tulip, or embellished – a good sleeve will not go astray in Spring 2018. This trend was a big hit on the runway and now it’s making our way into our closets. Style a statement sleeve top with skinny jeans, tapered trousers or a great fitted skirt. Great for work or something stunning for a night out. I got my top from Target Australia.
